Tuesday, 3/20: I got this blister from hiking three miles in sandals at Matthews-Winters Park west of Lakewood, looking for boulders to climb. I eventually started a couple semi-easy problems, but quit because my right forearm was throbbing pretty bad. I rested it and it got better. I took this photo a week later.
(Photo courtesy Dave Nice)Friday, 3/23: I wrote a story about Dave Nice, I guy I met through Nick, who is attempting to ride the 2,490-mile off-road Great Divide Race. You can read the story here: http://denver.yourhub.com/Denver/Story~282745.aspx
Friday, 3/23: Emily and I finally at at City, O’City, the new vegetarian/vegan pizza joint on 13th and Grant, where the old Watercourse Foods restaurant used to be. It’s the real deal — seitan pepperoni, seitan sausage, thin crust, and not too much cheese. They have wine, beer, espresso and water, a couple of appetizers, and pizza. That’s it. I’m excited to go back.
Sunday, 3/24: The Salvagetti Breakfast Ride took us back to Gaia Bistro on Old South Pearl Street, the longest ride we go on because Scott loves the food there. I’m not a huge fan; the food is great, but for the money, I don’t leave feeling like I got enough to eat. And the place is so small, we can only go there when it’s nice enough to sit outside, since our group is usually 12 to 14 people.
